Artist Statement /
I am unconventional. I don’t have a shtick. If I were forced to adhere to a singular, repetitive style, I would rather be dead. I am self-taught. I do what I want. I make what I like. I create what feels authentic to me. That might be a painting, a sculpture, a chair, or a paperclip. My work resists categorization by design. It shifts mediums as often as it shifts mood. The through-line is not style, it is intent. I also run a multidimensional design “agency” called dl/s (DAVEY LEAVITT STUDIO), where I collaborate with brands and produce curated editions of my work, including prints, apparel, accessories, books, decor, and various miscellaneous objects that probably did not need to exist but now do.
